In most years, federal income taxes are due by April 15.
This year is different. April 15 , 2023, falls on a Saturday. Monday, April 18, 2023, is a holiday in Washington, DC.
This year’s Tax Day is Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Most folks file their taxes much earlier.
Why is Tax Day important.? Some personal income taxes may be dischargeable in bankruptcy after Tax Day.
2018 federal income debts can only be dischargeable once Tax Day has passed: April 19, 2023.
